The Westminster Police Department shares a close connection to neighboring jurisdictions, including Arvada. Last year, the Arvada Police Department lost Officer Dillon Vakoff in the line of duty, who had strong ties to the Westminster community. To honor Officer Vakoff, Westminster Senior Police Officer Adam Lanning participated in the Police Unity Tour, a 250-mile group bike ride from New Jersey to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Throughout the journey, Officer Lanning carried a bracelet engraved with Officer Vakoff’s name and delivered it in person to his family at the memorial.
