For the 20th year in a row, the City has achieved a top-ten ranking nationwide in the Center for Digital Government’s Digital Cities Survey. The survey recognizes the efforts of cities across the U.S. to improve and implement technology programs and plans for staff and residents.
Westminster has consistently earned this honor over two decades and is a testament to the City’s long-standing commitment to successfully implementing and supporting solutions that serve residents and staff.
In the 2023 survey, the City was recognized for its success with several initiatives including the development of the Westy Water portal, consolidation of device and workstation replacement at City facilities, and participation in regional cybersecurity exercises.
IT Services Administrator Larry Garlick said the City approaches technology in a thoughtful way that ensures funding is used wisely, and customer service is always a high priority.
“Westminster has made thoughtful decisions in its approach to technology over the years,” Garlick said. “We do not chase the newest shiny object out of the box, but instead evaluate benefits and costs before moving. Westminster has a very motivated Information Technology staff who look for opportunities to improve service when possible.”
2023 was the 20th year that Westminster submitted a survey for the award, and the 20th time it has achieved a top-ten ranking nationwide in the 75,000-124,999 population category.
Information Technology Director David Guo said the department is looking forward to building on the success and continuing to deliver award-winning service to the community.
