As part of the City’s commitment to transparency, City Council directed staff to create two new funds to ensure residents can easily track new revenues coming from the passage of the Paramedics and Pavement sales tax.
- 3H 2025: Paramedics and Pavement Fund
This fund will track the City’s work to hire 45.5 new firefighters, emergency medical and support personnel as well as the construction of a central fire station and modernization of a westside fire station.
- Transportation Fund
This fund will be dedicated to tracking the $2 million that is dedicated to repaving and improving neighborhood streets
These funds will help residents easily track how 3H revenues are collected, allocated, and spent. Additionally, the information will be made available on the City’s Transparency Portal in early 2026.
During its November 17 meeting, City Council also appropriated future Paramedics and Pavement funds to hire more firefighters, paramedics, support personnel, modernize emergency facilities, and improve neighborhood streets across the city. After the bill’s passage upon second reading, these City Council actions enable the City to begin planning, hiring, and construction in early 2026.
City leaders thanked voters for supporting the measure and recognizing the long-term needs of a growing and aging community. The passage of the Paramedics and Pavement 3H Ballot issue ensures Westminster can continue providing high-quality emergency services and maintain safe, reliable streets for decades to come.
As the City moves forward with hiring personnel, launching design work, and preparing for construction, residents can expect regular updates on progress and timelines.
“Ballot Issue 3H represents an investment in safety, reliability, and the everyday quality of life for Westminster families,” said Mayor Nancy McNally. “We are grateful to the voters for their trust and look forward to delivering on the commitments outlined in the measure.”
