Digital Cities Award Winner

Westminster IT Department Receives Digital Cities Award for 22nd Consecutive Year

The Center for Digital Government has once again awarded the City of Westminster’s IT department the Digital Cities Survey Award for Digital Government. This recognition celebrates cities that leverage technology to enhance digital services, promote transparency, and tackle the pressing social challenges our communities face today.

Winning cities in the 2025 Digital Cities Survey are incorporating community feedback into their plans, ensuring responsible AI use, maturing their data programs, and navigating challenges without sacrificing service.

“We are honored to have received this award for 22 consecutive years now,” said Information Technology Director David Guo. “For the past two years, the IT Department has been hyper-focused on delivering top-tier customer experiences, providing practical solutions, building resilient infrastructure, and forming meaningful partnerships. We take great pride in enhancing digital services for our residents and internal government IT operations. This award is a confirmation of our efforts and commitment.”

The award is given to departments that exemplify exceptional customer service and continually work to meet the needs of our residents and staff. Their commitment to digital excellence allows us to serve our community more effectively.

“What stands out this year isn’t just the technology, it’s the focus on the impact on constituent services,” said Teri Takai, Chief Programs Officer at the Center for Digital Government. “These cities are applying innovation where it matters most: keeping people housed, making streets safer, and building community trust. They’re showing that when technology is guided by purpose, it delivers results that citizens can feel.”

The City of Westminster IT team was honored at the Digital Cities Awards event during the National League of Cities summit on November 19 in Salt Lake City, UT.
